What is RPM?

RPM (revenue per mille) is what a creator earns per 1,000 views after YouTube's share. It is lower than the CPM advertisers pay, and it changes with niche, country, season and how many views actually show ads.

Why niche and country matter

Advertisers pay more to reach viewers who are likely to buy expensive things, like finance or software, and viewers in high-income countries. A finance video watched in the USA can earn many times more than an entertainment video watched in South Asia.

Earn more from the same views

Longer videos (8+ minutes) can carry mid-roll ads, evergreen search topics keep earning for years, and growing a loyal audience in high-RPM countries lifts every video.

Questions

How accurate is this calculator? +

How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views? +

Most long-form channels earn roughly $0.50 to $10 per 1,000 views, and some finance or tech channels earn more. Shorts earn much less per view.
