The two levels of YPP
Fan funding (memberships, Super Thanks, Super Chat) opens earlier: 500 subscribers, 3 uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days. Ad revenue needs 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days.
Reach the threshold faster
Long-form videos build watch hours faster than Shorts. Watch time from ad campaigns may not count toward YPP thresholds, so use promotion to bring real new viewers to your channel: the ones who like your video subscribe and go on to watch your other videos organically, and that watch time does count.
